Vaccination Tips

Common Questions about vaccinations

  1. If you have mild illness or a high temperature, please put off the vaccination until you have recovered. We will be here waiting for you.
  2. Most vaccinations can be received on the same day by injecting on different body parts (left arm, right arm), e.g. Influenza Vaccine and the PCV 13. Feel free to ask us if you have any doubts.
  3. Some vaccines are not suitable for women who are preparing for pregnancy, going through pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please consult our medical staff for further details
  4. If you are taking any medication (even Chinese medicine) before the jab, please inform our medical staff. We also recommend bringing your medication to our clinic for enquiries.
  5. Some vaccinations take up to 18 months to complete. Please keep track of your vaccination schedule and receive the doses on time. This is important for effective immunization. You will also receive a text reminder from Health Gene 1 to 2 days prior your appointment. We try our best to provide the best service.

Common questions about Child vaccinations

  1. If your child is unwell or has a temperature, please postpone the immunization until they recover.
  2. Please bring your immunization record (injection card) with you to the appointment.
  3. Children might experience slight discomfort after immunization, such as fever, stomach upset, red or swelling around the injection sites etc. These reactions usually subside in the next few days. If they persist, please see a doctor immediately.
  4. Low fever (around 38 Celsius degree) is a common side effect for children after vaccination. However, the incubation period of live vaccines can last up to 14 to 21 days, meaning a fever can happen even after 2 weeks from the vaccination date.
  5. Mild and temporary side effects such as increased irritability, diarrhea and vomiting might follow after Rotavirus vaccination. Please contact us if you have any inquiries.
