About this test

It is a quick and non-invasive test to identify the presence of Helicobacter pylori in your stomach.

What are Helicobacter pylori (H.Pylori)?

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria that causes infection in the stomach. It is the only bacterium known to thrive in the human stomach and stimulate the secretion of gastric acid.

Since 1994, H. pylori has been classified as carcinogenic to humans by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. H. pylori infection causes chronic inflammation and significantly increases the risk of developing duodenal and gastric ulcer disease and gastric cancer.

H pylori the major cause of gastric cancer. It infects roughly 60 percent of the world’s adult population.

H. pylori enters your body and attacks the lining of your stomach, which protects you from the harsh body acid used to digest food. Once the bacteria have caused enough damage, acid can get through the lining, leading to ulcers. As a result, it may bleed, cause infections, or keep food from moving through your digestive tract. H pylori’s antibiotic resistance is mounting.

Symptoms and signs associated with H pylori infections:

  1. Bloating
  2. Burping
  3. Loss of appetite
  4. Nausea
  5. Vomiting
  6. An ache or burning pain in your abdomen
  7. Unintentional weight loss

Most infected individuals have few or no symptoms. They may experience abdominal discomfort when the condition progresses to gastritis.
